Morgan Stephens is a journalist, author, and poet. She's worked as a staff writer for Daily Kos, covering the Democratic Party, the White House, and the intersection of tech, governance, and politics. Previously, she worked as a freelance White House reporter for Bloomberg covering the Biden administration and as a reporter and production assistant for CNN. Her reporting on elections, Long COVID, homelessness, and political extremism have appeared in The Daily Beast, HuffPost, CNN Politics, The Des Moines Register, and The Washington Post.
Her debut poetry collection TILT was published via Aldrich Press in April 2024. Her poetry has been featured in Wild Roof Journal, The Long COVID Reader, and Griffel. After developing Long COVID in 2020, she wrote candidly about her experience for CNN. She has also appeared on CNN+, KCAL, ABC Los Angeles, NPR, Poynter, Columbia Journalism Review, and various podcasts to discuss the topic. Stephens is a contributing author to The Long COVID Survival Guide. Stephens graduated summa cum laude from the University of Southern California with a double bachelor's in political science and journalism. She’s a proud member of the White House Correspondents Association and the National Press Club. |
