Morgan Stephens is a multimedia journalist and writer. She currently works for CNN's Erin Burnett OutFront as a production assistant. In 2019, she interned with the White House Unit at CBS News where she covered the Trump administration, and in 2018, covered LA mayor Eric Garcetti with CNN Politics. Her reporting on Long Covid, homelessness, the 2020 primary and political extremism has appeared in The Daily Beast, HuffPost, The Des Moines Register and The Washington Post, respectively.
After developing Long Covid, she wrote about her experience in an Op-Ed for CNN. Since then she's appeared on CNN+, KCAL, ABC Los Angeles, NPR and been featured in Poynter, Columbia Journalism Review, Mic and a variety of podcasts on the issue. She's a contributor author in the book "The Long Covid Survival Guide" set to release in Nov. 2022, and "Roadmap to Recovery: Overcoming Long Haul Covid Syndrome." She's currently writing a narrative nonfiction book detailing her illness with Long Covid while exploring its global impact. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from University of Southern California with a double bachelor's in political science and journalism. During her time there she worked as political reporter, gaggling with two presidential candidates and providing analysis for numerous elections. She spearheaded the video series "The Ballot Box," breaking down the politics and policies surrounding the Democratic primary. Her reporting on candidate Bernie Sanders was recognized as a second-place winner for 2020 government and political reporting from the LA Press Club. |
